Lhundup Kalsang was born in Shigatse, Tibet where he did his primary school studies up to grade six. In 2006 he sought asylum in India and then entered Sera Monastery in South India where he studied the five great canonical texts for over twenty years. After finishing his study at Sera, in 2022 he came to Dharamshala and completed a Tibetan language teacher’s training course at Esukhia, and then in 2023 he joined LRZTP. Lhundup Kalsang teaches Tibetan language and Buddhism to international students in person as well as online in LRZTP programs.
