LRZTP – Local Program Director Needed

Lotsawa Rinchen Zangpo Translators Program (LRZTP) in Dharmsala, India is looking for a new Local Program Director. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with initiative to join our team and help lead the next courses and projects.

The Local Program Director position is a full-time position, based in Dharmsala, India, and reporting to the director and the board of trustees.

Position Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Tibetan language – essential
  • Experience working in an educational institution (this includes Dharma centers) – essential
  • Experience of successfully managing a team – essential
  • Experience working with project based learning, curriculum planning and implementation – big advantage
  •  Devoted to Lama Zopa Rinpoche, or at least familiarity with and respect for Rinpoche and the FPMT organization
  • Be willing and able to live full time in Dharamsala and commit to the job for at least 2 years (non-Indian nationals will need to be eligible for a long-term visa)
  • Good level of English.

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing courses and projects of the school.
  • In charge of the pedagogical aspect of the school.
  • Working closely with and supporting the teachers
  • Budget planning, implementation and monitoring
  • Publicity planning and implementation, including online platforms
  • Developing Tibetan language learning resources
  • Responsible for finding resources for the school
  • Maintaining warm, transparent communication with staff and students
  • Working under the director

The Local Program Director will be present at school each day, supporting the staff and students within the context of their role.
